This is all gonna come to a screeching halt one day

For some people retirement is a bad joke, to others it means getting a good job at their late 20s, for others it is a distant dream of serenity and rest.
In this work I envisioned retirement through the eyes of somebody that has already retired. I worked with found footage for the visuals of the video and I composed a poem using the words of a man that appeared once on TV to talk about his retirement. The poem had a preaching tone to it. My intention was to be sarcastic and critical of the advice given on the poem I wrote, reflecting on the multiplicity of the opinions I come across in everyday life in regards to retirement. To achieve the playful critisism I used footage from the visuals that in some cases would appear contradictory to the preaching tone of the poem.
